Tell Me About Sundays
Arriving
Come anytime from 10.15am (for the 10.30 Gathering) and 4.45pm (for 5pm Gathering) for a warm welcome. You’ll have the chance to meet a few friendly faces. Kids and Youth groups run at the 10.30 Gathering.
Service
When the Gathering starts we encourage everyone to take their seats (there is a countdown on the screens!). Usually we start with a time of sung worship led by the band. The words are on the screen and you’re free to join in or sit and watch. Then we normally have prayer, notices, a talk looking at a passage from the Bible. And we finish with more sung worship and a time of prayer.
Each gathering normally lasts about 90minutes.
Children and Youth
We love having children and young people with us in church and want them to feel really welcome! We have groups at the 10.30am gathering to help them do this.
St Marks Kids groups run from age 2 to 11 years and you can register them from 10.20am. One of the welcome team will show you where to go.
St Marks Youth stay for sung worship and leave around 11am. You’ll be told exactly when and where to go from the front.
We have buggy access, facilities with a changing table and there is a space just outside the main space for younger children children to play and make friends and coffee and the service on live stream for the grown ups.
Their is also a creche with accompanying live-stream for any families of very little ones that would prefer to listen to the service with a few toys around them.
Refreshments
At the morning service, we serve delicious coffee, tea, cold drinks and snacks in the café area at the back of church. A member of the team would be happy to serve you – and its all completely free!
If you remember, do bring your own mug. We want to do all we can to protect the environment, by minimising our waste.
At the 5pm, there will be food post service! We want to create community and food is a brilliant way to do that. Come join us and stick around at the 5pm.
The Connect Lounge
The connect lounge is based at the back of church, with sofas and comfy chairs. At the end of each gathering, the connect host would love to meet you, answer any questions, and tell you more about how you can connect with the church in an ongoing way.
Access
We have disabled access through the main doors and plenty of space inside. Please ask anyone wearing a lanyard if you need assistance.
Dress code
Whatever you’re comfortable in works for us! We’re an informal group and often gather with shorts, t-shirts and trainers. If you feel better in a shirt and tie, though, we won’t bat an eyelid either.
The Building
From the outside the church might look traditional but once inside you’ll find a light and open space with comfortable seats along with a café-style welcome area. It all combines to create a beautiful and atmospheric worship environment.
Safeguarding
We are a warm and friendly church who are committed to being a safe church for all. Our safeguarding policies and protocols are available to view on this website. We believe that keeping people safe is everyone’s responsibility. If anyone sees or experiences something that doesn’t seem right we encourage them to report it straight away. Details of how to do this are here.
